Practical advices and wheel torque chart values for tightening bolts of your car the right way.
How to torque the wheels of your car?
When you need to tighten the bolts of your car wheels there are few things to take care if you want to do a proper and safe job. First of all you need a certified torque wrench with a torque range between 40 and 210 Nm, then you need to find the specific torque value related to your car model (you can find it in the following chart).
When you start to tighten the wheel bolts be sure to follow the right cross pattern (as you can see at the bottom of this article). If you are a meticolous person probably you will proceed with three steps by applying 20% of the target torque on the first pass, 60% at the second pass and the final pass to the desired torque.

Once the suitable tools and the tightening torque have been identified, the appropriate cross pattern must be followed as described in the picture below, it is recommended to perform the tightening in three steps by applying 20% of the target torque on the first pass, 60% at the second pass and the final pass to the desired torque.
